Designers are mixing the old wolrd charm of claw footed baths, once used only in federation terraces, and installing them into hip apartmens thanks to a Sydney-based company.

Boutique baths managing director, Jo Embury said: Conaumers are demanding a modern feel to their bathroom design. Busy lifesyles have seen the ritual of bathring return with the use of aromatherapy, music and candles. A claw foot bath indulges all the senses in a very unique fashion.

Boutique Baths has been resoting claw foot baths since 2001 and renovates clients own baths and pedestal basins and also supplies fully restored baths to custom made specifications.

The restoration process invloves shot blasting the origninal
bathtub to bare cast iron then a rust proofing and undercoating primer is applied to seal the metal cast. Filling agents are then applied to the cast before a synthetic porcelain and baking process which completes the process.
